Bio

Chaka is inspiring in his outlook, his perseverance, his passion for helping others with disabilities (especially kids), and his strength and talent in the water. Growing up in Oceanside, Chaka always surfed. After an accident that took away the use of his legs, he was looking for a way to get back to normal. A friend made a SUP that was tailored to someone who is wheelchair bound, basically made it for Chaka. After riding that SUP, Chaka’s new life had begun. He loved being back in the water, on a paddle board and on a surf board. He now travels California as a motivational speaker, showing children and adults alike “don’t challenge your limits, limit your challenges.” He also competes in surf and SUP competitions. Chaka recently founded Stoke For Life, a non-profit dedicated to showing other adaptive athletes the joys of being in the water. His goal is to “spread the aloha spirit through adaptive watersports.”
